Q. Can I choose my own builder?
A. You can choose one of the approved builders – Hickinbotham Group (Charterhouse) or Rossdale Homes.

Q. Why only these builders?
A. They have demonstrated their understanding of and ability to meet the demands of environmental initiatives central to the development of Lochiel Park.

Q. Can I vary the house design?
A. Within the 'building envelope plan', you may be able to work with your builder to change the floor plan to suit your particular requirements. Talk to your builder!

Q. When can I start to build?
A. Builders access to your allotment is already available.

Q. How much open space will there be in Lochiel Park?
A. Sixty seven per cent of Lochiel Park will be designated as open space comprising wetlands, reserves and urban forest. Most residential developments offer around 12 to 13% of the total area as open space. The open space is protected under Local Government Lochiel Park Lands Amendment Act 2005, which protects it from development in the future.

Q. What size solar power system do I need?
A. You will need a system that provides 1.0kW of power for every 100m2 of habitable floor area in your home.

Q. How do the water systems work within my home?
A. There will be 3 pipes supplying water to your home. These are a recycled water pipe for toilet flushing, cold washing machine and garden irrigation, a pipe from your rain water tank connected to hot water and a drinking water pipe for other uses.

Q. Who is responsible for the maintenance of the Park Lands?
A. The Land Management Corporation is responsible for the first 3 years of maintenance following practical completion of the development works after which time maintenance will be handed over to the City of Campbelltown. SAWater will take control of the wetlands maintenance.
